Setting up Naver Map in English

How to use Naver Map (Best map app in Korea) | Guide, tips, English settings | Korea Travel Tips — Your Korea Friend

Choose the app language

Naver Map is a Korean navigation app. Open its menu and look under Settings → Language to choose English. The exact labels can vary with the app version and device.

Basic place searches and route planning are available without signing in. An English interface does not mean every review, menu image or business notice has been translated.

Find the correct destination

Try the English name first if that is what you have. If the result is missing or ambiguous, paste the Korean name, address, phone number or a Naver Map share link supplied by the venue.

Check the address and branch name before starting directions. Businesses can share names, telephone numbers can change, and a map listing may be outdated.

Save the Korean name and entrance details at a readable size. They can help when comparing the listing with a sign or asking someone for directions.

Read the whole journey

Check the departure time, transport mode, transfers and walking sections. For a subway journey, note the station and suggested exit number, then follow station signs.

If you need an elevator or step-free route, check the station's accessibility information. The nearest numbered exit may use stairs or be temporarily closed.

Live arrivals and traffic depend on data availability. Leave enough time for walking between platforms, exits and the actual destination.

Confirm venue information

Place pages may show hours, reviews, photographs and translated content. These are useful starting points, but a temporary closure or holiday change may not yet appear.

Check the venue's latest dated notice or call before making a special journey. 정기휴무일 means a regular closing day; also look for temporary or holiday notices.

Keep account features separate

Saving places or lists may require a Naver account. Reservations, ordering and payments can require further verification and have their own eligibility rules.

Naver, a Korean search and online-services company, offers a passport-verification route for some visitor services. Follow the current instructions for the feature you need rather than assuming passport verification is required merely to browse or save a map.

Prepare for a lost connection

Save important addresses, booking details and route screenshots before leaving a reliable connection. Screenshots do not update when a route or service changes, so recheck when you reconnect.

For current features and setup information, use the official app listing and Naver's help links.
