What 1345 is for
1345 is the Foreigner Comprehensive Information Center (외국인종합안내센터), run for the Ministry of Justice under the Framework Act on the Treatment of Foreigners. You can ask about permitted stays, visa procedures, departure arrangements and which immigration office handles your case. If a passport is lost, ask which records or updates are needed rather than assuming a particular certificate is compulsory. Calling can help you prepare for an office visit.
Check the hours for your language
The Ministry's page lists twenty: Korean, Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Mongolian, Indonesian, French, Bengali, Urdu, Russian, Nepali, Khmer, Burmese, German, Spanish, Filipino, Arabic and Sinhala. That roster holds on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00. From 18:00 to 22:00 only Korean, English and Chinese consultants remain, and at weekends the line is closed. If you need another language, call during the daytime service hours. Other interpretation services do not replace immigration’s advice about your case.
The menu
Dial 1345 with no area code, or +82-2-1345 / +82-2-6908-1345 from abroad; it is a paid call at the ordinary rate. The recorded menu offers 1 for immigration office locations, jurisdictions and hours, 2 for visa-approval results, 3 for employer reporting, 4 for the village-lawyer programme, and 0 for a consultant. For a language other than Korean, follow the prompt to your language's number and press star to be connected.
Beyond paperwork
The centre also supports three-way interpretation for relevant public bodies and nonprofit organisations. It provides interpretation support for the village-lawyer programme for foreigners. Ask the consultant which service is available for your situation and how to arrange it.
