The clock, once you are called
A remote waitlist still requires you to arrive and confirm when requested. These are feature-specific operator rules, not a universal timetable for every venue or the Global app. A notification may give you a limited time to confirm arrival before your place is postponed or cancelled.
CatchTable is a restaurant booking and waitlist service. Its automatic-postponement feature uses a twenty-minute arrival-confirmation deadline. When you reach the confirmed turn, CatchTable sends one KakaoTalk message asking you to confirm arrival (도착인증). Tap the arrival-confirmation button; the GPS check can succeed within 300 m of the restaurant; if the location check fails, type the arrival code posted at the entrance. If you do not confirm within 20 minutes under this feature, the entry is cancelled.
Tabling venues requiring an arrival code — 10 minutes. When you reach second place, a six-digit confirmation code (대기확정코드) appears on the restaurant's tablet, and you have 10 minutes to enter it — you have to be at the door to read it. Remote queuing only opens once two parties are already waiting, and a restaurant can switch it off on a busy night. Tabling's postpone button (순서미루기) can move you to a selected later position or the end of the line, up to three times, but not once seating is imminent or you have been called. Tabling also documents location-based arrival confirmation, depending on venue settings. Customers who register on-site do not need the separate remote-arrival check. Follow the deadline in your actual notification; “The restaurant only takes the Tabling app” covers account barriers.
Confirm arrival before your turn approaches
On CatchTable the 20-minute cancellation is the second penalty, not the first. Each time a table frees, the app checks whether the party at the confirmed turn has verified arrival; if not, it is pushed back and the next verified party is seated. If you delay confirming arrival, other parties may be seated before you while your confirmation deadline continues to approach.
Where to stand
Stay within a few minutes’ walk as your turn approaches. Keep the app’s notifications enabled and check whichever contact method the restaurant uses. KakaoTalk is a messaging app that some services use for queue alerts. Do not assume staff will make a separate phone call. If you are on a roaming phone and the location check does not fire, go to the door and type the code — or ask staff how to confirm your arrival.
