Copy the Korean name and address
You can search for a place in Korean without reading Korean or installing a Korean keyboard. Copy the venue’s Korean name or road address and paste it into Naver Map or KakaoMap, two Korean navigation apps.
A venue may use different English spellings on its sign, website and map listing. Searching with its Korean name can help, but check the address and branch because names are not unique.
Find text you can copy
Look for the Korean name in the venue’s website, booking confirmation or map listing. If you only have a photograph of a sign or receipt, use your phone’s text-recognition feature to copy the Korean characters. Check the recognised text against the photograph before searching.
A telephone number or shared link from the map app can also help you find the intended listing. Ask the venue or your accommodation for a map link if the results remain unclear.
Show your taxi driver the destination before setting off
Show the Korean venue name and full road address in large, readable text. Let the driver confirm the destination while the vehicle is stopped. A map pin can help distinguish branches or buildings with similar names.
Keep the road name, building number and any floor or unit details together. An address may identify the building without explaining which entrance to use.
Save the details for use without a connection
Save the Korean name, address, telephone number and map location. A screenshot of the route and a street-level photograph of the entrance can help when mobile data is unavailable. Keep these images accessible on your phone before leaving your accommodation.
